Dog Days in Cullompton

Exeter Dog Training Club’s annual Open Obedience Show is on Sunday 29th May 2005 at Cullompton Football Club.

The event is being held back-to-back with Taunton Dog Training Club’s show, at the same venue on Saturday, ensuring a huge entry of around 600 competitors from across the South of England, Wales and further afield.

Competitors will participate in one or more of fifteen classes, according to their experience and previous level of achievement. A number of exercises will demonstrate the level of control handlers have over their dogs. Judges will rate their performance and trophies will be awarded to the winners of each class.

“This is our biggest show in recent years” said Brian Knott, Exeter Dog Training Club Chairman “and Cullompton is the perfect venue”. Excellent facilities including refreshments are laid on by the Football Club Committee and their families. The adjacent Cullompton Community Association fields provide an attractive location for parking, camping and dog walking. Devon & Somerset Whippet Club, who use the site for whippet racing, helped out by loaning equipment. Mr Knott extended thanks to everyone who made the event possible.
